Here it goes—my first official blog post! AH! (The About Me page doesn’t really count, right?)
My mind has been spinning with ideas. Should I write something hopeful? Something about my business? Or maybe go totally off topic and talk about food (yum!). But as I sat in prayer, God kept challenging me to share something deeper—something I struggle with... social media.
If I’m honest, it doesn’t just scare me—it terrifies me. I’ve had social media my entire adult life, regularly on Facebook and on and off Instagram. But this feels different. This is public. This is for the world. And the world can be unkind… even terrifying.
We live in a time where the internet wants to rule, there is constant misinformation, it is easy to hide behind a screen, say what we want, and there is little to no accountability. But as an online business owner, I can’t run from this fear. I have to put myself out there and be vulnerable—because there’s a bigger purpose behind all of this. Bigger than me. Bigger than you.
Jesus. He loves us deeply and longs for a real relationship with each of us. Without Him at the center, true joy and fullness will never exist-- even if the internet says otherwise! So, as I continue to turn my heart back to Him, I remind myself: this is for Him. To grow His kingdom. To share His love. To bring light, hope, and bold truth.
We aren’t called to be comfortable Christians. We are called to something bigger, something more, something that stretches us. He never promised it would be easy, but He did promise to never leave our side.
So, I will face this fear. My prayer is that Good News & Co becomes not only a place to wear your faith boldly, but also a source of hope—filled with love, truth, and encouragement for your journey with Him.
